Starward Vacations’ 60 Second Seminar- Casablanca

The Hassan II Mosque is consistently rated the number one attraction in Casablanca. Completed in 1993, this fine example of beautiful Moroccan architecture is the only mosque in the country that permits entry of non-Muslim visitors. Guided tours are available multiple times throughout the day and many are conducted in English.

  • Casablanca’s largest park, the Parc de la Ligue Arabe in the Lusitania district, is dotted with pergolas and has paths closely lined with palm trees swaying in the coastal breeze. Rest with a fruit juice in one of its cafés.
  • Step into Casablanca’s cool Centre 2000 arcade and walk out with designer sunglasses, elegant watches and jewelry, top fashions and Italian shoes. Located at the entrance to the port, this shopping complex mixes up-market boutiques with fine dining.
  • If Morocco’s music has got under your skin, Le Comptoir Marocain de Distribution de Disques in Casablanca is worth a visit. Blending Spanish classical, western and Arab-African and Berber styles, Moroccan music merits consideration and this emporium has it all.
  • La Bodega is the place to party for hip Moroccans. Fuel up on tapas before dancing to Arabic beats, reggae, rock and universal disco. On Tuesdays the bar dances to the tune of Brazilian samba with flamboyant dance instructor Didier.
  • The Casablanca Festival of Video Art, held at the Universite Hassan II Mohammedia, explores the latest in video and multi-media installations. It also promotes the exchange of ideas by holding workshops and conferences for artists and anyone interested in the subject.
  • Entirely funded by Morocco’s King Mohammed VI, the Grand Prix Hassan II in Casablanca is one of the two ATP World Tour stops in Africa. Driven by the 450,000 prize money, the tennis action unfolds at the Complexe Al Amal.
